In Denmark, we have a long tradition for natural and important cooperation between all the music academies
The Royal Danish Academy of Music has as something new entered into a special, mutually binding cooperation agreement with The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen to strengthen the quality of the study programmes of our academies, so that we together can continue to offer elitist programmes at a high international level within the joint spectrum of classical and rhythmic study programmes.
It is also of great importance that a more cross-cutting cooperation with the other educational institutions under the Ministry of Culture within KUR (Principals of the Ministry of Culture) is ongoing as well as the cooperation with several of the Danish universities, one of them within the Danish Network for Music Teaching Research.
The cooperation with The Royal Theatre on the running of the Opera Academy holds a special position and an annual co-production takes place in January. The Academy also collaborates with the Danish Broadcasting Corperation as well as Danish symphony orchestras, choirs and ensembles - and in particular with Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra (Copenhagen Phil).
Copenhagen Phil has it winter residence in the Academy’s concert hall, and we have entered into a special rent and cooperation agreement. RDAM has in addition important regional cooperation relations with music schools and MGK’s as a special part of the Academy’s junior strategy.
RDAM also collaborates with Copenhagen Tourist Board "Wonderful Copenhagen" and Tivoli, as well as culture and music festivals such as Golden Days and Nordic Music Days. Finally the Academy also host its own festivals, such as the Copenhagen International Organ Festival 2009, The Chopin Festival, PULSAR and debut festival (including other participants of the region).
