Opening Event for the Music Confucius Institute

Thursday May 2nd The Royal Danish Academy of Music will host an opening event marking the opening of the world’s first Music Confucius Institute
From April 30th through May 4th The Royal Danish Academy of Music will host a delegation of Chinese musicians in connection with the opening concert.

During their stay a series of lectures will be held where each musician will give a lecture on their respective instrument, its history and application. Furthermore, the president of Central Conservatory of Music, Wang Cizhao, will give a lecture on Traditional Chinese Music and Its Contemporary Development.

The concert program for event on May 2nd will consist of Chinese and Western musical performances influenced by traditional and contemporary tendencies on the global musical scene. The musical pieces will be performed by some of the leading musicians, teachers and students from The Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.

The concert will feature:

Zhao Xiao Xia, Chinese Zither - Guqin.
