The Winner of RDAM's Soloist Competition 2014

The Pianist Filip Strauch will be this year's soloist with RDAM's Symphony Orchestra in the Tivoli Concert Hall

The pianist Filip Strauch won the Royal Danish Academy of Music's soloist competition 2014 and thus gets the honour of being soloist in Listz's 2nd Piano Concerto with RDAM's Symphony Orchestra conducted by Giancarlo Andretta in Tivoli's Concert Hall on 22nd June 2014. Twelve RDAM students took part in the first round of the competition and six students went on to the second round. The winner was elected at the finals concert on 5th May, when Filip Strauch competed with the viola player Kristina Fialova and the clarinetist Natalie Harris.

Filip Strauch (b. 1985) is soloist student at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where he studies with professor Niklas Sivelöv. He has previously studied at the conservatoire in Zillina, Slovakia and at the conservatoire in St. Petersburg. Filip Strauch started playing the piano at a young age and already as a 10 year-old he recorded Mozart's known Fantasy in c-minor for the Slovakian radio. In 2009 he won the Yamaha Competition in Bratislava and was given the opportunity to perform with the Slovakian Radio Symphony Orchestra, which was transmitted live. Filip Strauch is at the moment recording his debut CD with solo piano works.
