Christine Bernsted awarded 1st Prize in Melbourne

Master's student won international violin competition

RDAM Master’s student Christine Bernsted was awarded 1st prize in Melbourne International Violin Competition. The first prize included $5,000.

The competition consisted of four rounds with participants from all over the world. The seven semi-finalists came from China, the United States, Australia, Germany, and Denmark. The Jury consisted of 60 music specialists from Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's string section, leading chamber music ensembles, the vice president and professors from Australian National Academy of Music, as well as music critics.

Christine Bernsted is a Master’s student under Professor Eszter Haffner at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, and concurrently she is studying with Boris Kuschnir in Vienna.
