New RDAM online competition for woodwinds

The winners are: Astrid Bjelland, David Daniel Dino, and Lea Hemmerlin

Due to the extraordinary situation surrounding the corona virus, last week, woodwind professors at RDAM held an online competition in order to give students something to practice for in a time where everyone is stuck at home.

28 woodwind students submitted their recordings for the new online competition, and 10 went on to the second round (in random order):

Marie Sophie Pérez, flute
Astrid Bjelland, flute
Ditte Aggerholm, flute
Freja Arendt, oboe
David Daniel Dinu, oboe
Katrin Mathiesen, clarinet
Lea Hemmerlin, clarinet
Raul Albala, bassoon
Laura Kjærsgaard, saxophone

Finally, out of the 10, the jury selected their 3 finalists:

1st Prize: Astrid Bjelland, flute
2nd Prize: David Daniel Dinu, oboe
3rd Prize: Lea Hemmerlin, clarinet

The jury consisted of Professor Max Artved (oboist & chairman), Ulla Miilmann (flute), John Kruse (clarinet) and Sebastian Stevensson (Bassoon).

The chairman Max Artved commented: ”You can hear that the recordings have been done under quite varying circumstances, but all woodwind students have risen to the challenge and recorded great and original interpretations of the competition program."
