The Music Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in China hosts an annual International Music Summer Camp for conservatory students.
Students from Confucius Institutes around the world are invited to participate in 2 weeks of Chinese music workshops, lectures, cultural activities and sightseeing in China. Workshops and performances are run by prominent musicologists, instrumentalists and artists from China.
PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY
- Enrolled student at The Royal Danish Academy of Music
- A registered student of Chinese language or music at Music Confucius Institute for at least 3 months
- Non-Chinese nationality
PREVIOUS SUMMER CAMPS
The 2015 International Music Summer Camp had 40 participants from the Confucius Institutes in Denmark, Hungary and the USA. It took place from 10th - 23rd of July 2015 in Beijing and Yunnan, and included a special focus on the folk music and culture of the ethnic minorities of South China. The camp was a unique opportunity for students from different backgrounds to experience and study the rich traditional, modern and folk music cultures of China and to meet fellow students, musicians and musicologists from China and around the world.
