Benedicte Christiansen trained as a singer at the Royal Danish Academy of Music where she earned her degree in 1995. She holds additional degrees in Italian from the University of Copenhagen and in Classical Philology from the University of Aarhus. For years, she has lived and worked in Rome and Trieste, where she also recieved further training in the Italian repertoire with Prof. Marta Lantieri. Benedicte has conducted Italian courses for DR's choir, The Royal Danish Opera Choir, The Royal Opera in Aarhus, Nimbus Film and Østre Gasværk Theatre.
She teaches italian for singers and hosts a writing course for all bachelor students.
Benedicte is also a journalist. She graduated from the Danish School of Journalism and writes as a freelancer for a variety of media. Especially about classical music and cultural policy. Further, she is head of the secretariat for the Danish music and culture school managers, DMKL.
