Since 1988 Bo Skovhus has performed on the world’s leading opera stages and concert halls. He is widely praised as opera singer in a long series of leading roles in operas counting among others Mozart (Don Giovanni, The Count and Guglielmo), Wagner (Wolfram, Kurwenal and Amfortas), Berg (Wozzeck) and Britten (Billy Budd), as well as winning acclaim in operettas such as Die Fledermaus (Eisenstein) and Die lustige Witwe (Danilo). His reputation as lieder singer is also legendary. He has worked with world famous conductors like Abbado, Barenboim, Conlon, Dohnanyi, Gardiner, Harnoncourt, Sawallisch, Tate og Thielemann and has performed with pianists such as Helmut Deutsch, Andreas Haefliger, Leif Ove Andsnes, Christoph Eschenbach and Daniel Barenboim. His discography within opera as well as concert and lieder repertoire counts more than 50 recordings for leading companies such as Decca, Chandos og Deutsche Grammophon. Presently he records exclusively for SONY Classical.
