Jakob Errboe Holtze combines a musical with an academic background. He received his first education at Roskilde University, Denmark, where he completed his Master in International Development Studies with a minor in the Philosophy of Science in 2006. Jakob subsequently trained as singer at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (Master of Music, Voice, 2009) and at the prestigious international Alexander Gibson Opera School under the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Master of Music, Opera, 2012) before returning to Denmark to work as freelance singer and as part-time manager for the professional Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir (2012-2014).
Recent singing engagements include the roles as Don Jerome in Prokofiev’s La Duenna/Betrothal in a Monastery for Scottish Opera (2012), Don José in Bizet´s Carmen for Edinburgh Grand Opera (2012)and for the Royal Danish Opera on tour (2013) and as Goro in Puccinis Madama Butterfly also for the Royal Danish Opera on tour (2014). For three consecutive summers Jakob has been engaged to sing in the Bayreuth Festival Chorus under the batons of Christian Thielemann, Andris Nelsons and Kirill Petrenko. He was selected for the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition - Wagnerian Division in New York in the spring of 2014. Jakob has previously directed or co-directed projects for Amnesty International, The Danish Foreign Ministry, Golden Days Festival and been involved in organizational work for De Konsevatoriestuderendes Landsråd, DMF, Dansk Tonekunstnerforening and Socialdemokraterne among others.
