We recommend new students to begin their search for housing as soon as possible. RDAM is situated in the municipality of Frederiksberg which is part of Greater Copenhagen Area (find map below).

Where to start?

A good place to start is to apply at the central administration of dormitories in Copenhagen: www.kollegierneskontor.dk . Other options are listed below.

Students are also welcome to contact our reception who can give advice on housing: info@dkdm.dk (attn: "housing"). Note that we have only limited service as we are highly dependent on our external network.

How to find housing in Copenhagen?

We recommend that you do not limit your search to the municipality Copenhagen but include nearby municipalities, such as Hvidovre, Brønshøj, Vanløse, Lyngby and Gentofte. You can easily go to Copenhagen by public transport from these places.

It is a good idea to extend your search for accommodation to the Capital Region (Region Hovedstaden) and Greater Copenhagen (Storkøbenhavn).

We advise you to join our Facebook Group for international students. Here you can get advice from fellow students, find information on available rooms and apartments or maybe find roommates.
On Facebook you may also find other groups for international students in Copenhagen where you can find inspiration to your search for accommodation.

Short-Term Accommodation

Good to Know

It is a good idea to ask the landlord if for example the rent includes electricity, heat and water. Furthermore, it is recommended to be sure of the house rules and to get a signed housing contract, fx a document that provides the rental period and the terms of ending the lease.

Please be aware that many buildings in Copenhagen are more than a hundred years old. Although some have been renovated, however, many buildings and apartments contain small or shared bathrooms.
