Ensemble Con Tempo

The Chinese composer Jia Guoping will visit The Royal Danish Academy of Music on 7 November 2016 to hold a lecture on traditional Chinese instruments in contemporary music, as well as present a concert featuring contemporary music for traditional Chinese instruments, written by Jia Guoping and other Chinese composers.

Jia Guoping is artistic director for Ensemble ConTempo Beijing (ECTB), who will perform these pieces. The ensemble was established in May 2011, and is the first contemporary ensemble in China that combines traditional Chinese and Western instruments. ECTB has a strong focus on new music, and regularly performs and commissions works by living composers.

17:00-18:30: Concert featuring contemporary music for traditional Chinese instruments.
